Jannice Käll

Jannice Käll

Jannice Käll is a doctoral student in legal science at the University of Gothenburg and has a licentiate degree in private law and a M.Sc. in intellectual capital management. The working title of Käll’s dissertation is Governing the Interfaces: Smart Objects, Digital Platforms, and Virtual Bodies. The project concerns the convergence between digital and non-digital objects through network based, business oriented practices. The role of contract and intellectual property constructions as enabling tools for the regulation of openness and welfare through high-technology innovation is read through a posthumanist perspective. A need to further develop legal constructions that have the capacity to create openness in a less market oriented manner than what is currently pursued is suggested with a basis in posthumanist ethics.

Moreover, Käll is engaged in a research project on online hatred from a gender perspective in collaboration with researchers from the Department of Sociology and Work Science at the University of Gothenburg and the Department of Applied Information Technology at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. Käll is also affiliated with the Center for Intellectual Property (CIP) at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. In addition, Käll lectures in legal science with focus on feminist and postcolonial theory, in feminist and posthumanist theory, and in intellectual property law with focus on copyright and contract based online business models.
