Elena Prats

Elena Prats is a doctoral student in philosophy of law at the Department of Philosophy, Uppsala University where she is part of the project CIVIS SUM which looks at rule of law practices on the route to EU citizenship. Prior to coming to Sweden, she was a lecturer in Spanish language and culture at the Waseda University (早稲田大学) and Sophia University (上智大学), in Tokyo, and The University of Japan (日本大学), in Mishima, Japan. Her research interests lie in the field of migration and citizenship policies: she is particularly interested in citizenship and residence-by-investment programs.


She holds a BA+M.Phil from the University of Barcelona (2010), BA in Asian Studies from UAB (2012) and Master in Internationalization from University of Barcelona (2012). In 2017 she will obtain her L.L.M. from the Open University of Catalonia.
