CIVIS SUM which looks at rule of law practices on the route to EU citizenship. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Genoa where he was awarded a scholarship for his research project, and he has previously obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the Austral University of Chile where he was recognized as “best LL.B. student of the year” – a prize awarded by the Faculty of Law in recognition of the highest mark in undergraduate studies.
As a legal researcher, Reyes focuses on the theory of law, constitutional law, evidence law and legal interpretation. He has published several papers on the connection between truth and law, standards of proof in criminal trials, legal interpretation and legal reasoning. As a trial lawyer, he specialized in complex litigation before the Chilean Supreme Court in the fields of immigration law, constitutional law, labor law and civil law.
