Filippo Valguarnera

Filippo Valguarnera is Associate Professor (docent) and Senior Lecturer in private law at the Department of Law, University of Gothenburg. He received his LL.D. in 2007 after defending his dissertation Accesso alla natura tra ideologia e diritto [Access to Nature between Law and Ideology] at the University of Turin. A second edition of the dissertation was published in 2013 by the Turin based publisher Giappichelli. Valguarnera’s research interests include comparative law, the right of public access, commons, issues of sustainability, the role of legal courts, and issues related to access to justice. The research is often conducted from a historical point of view. He also co-heads the research project Access to Commons, which is part of the larger project Common Core of European Private Law.
